The Body Edit: Strength, Exercise and Nutrition

£20.00

Wednesday, 24th June 7pm - 9.30pm

If you’ve noticed your body changing in midlife - more weight around the middle, harder to shift than it used to be - you’re not imagining it. And it’s not a willpower problem.

What’s covered on the night?

From your 40’s onwards, hormonal shifts change the way your body stores fat, builds muscle and responds to exercise. Most women are never told this. They just try harder, eat less and wonder why it isn’t working.

This evening is about changing that.

Join us for an honest, practical and genuinely useful evening with two experts who between them cover both sides of the picture - the science of what’s happening inside your body, and exactly what to do about it.

You’ll leaving knowing:

  • Why fat redistributes to the middle in midlife and why it matters beyond aesthetics

  • Why more cardio and less food often stops working - and what to do instead

  • Why strength training is the single most important thing you can add to your routine

  • Exactly where to start, even if you’ve never lifted a weight in your life.

Ally Taylor - Personal Trainer & Founder, Amovida

Ally’s talk will cut through the noise around strength training - what it actually does for your body, why it matters more as you get older, not less, and what it can realistically look like for a normal person with a normal life. No barbells required. Just honest, practical information that will change how you think about exercise.

Fiona Hayers - Nutritional Therapist & Health Coach

At this event Fiona will be exploring why body composition shifts so significantly in midlife - the hormonal drivers behind fat redistribution (not just oestrogen!), why the usual approaches often stop working, and what nutrition and lifestyle changes can genuinely make a difference. Practical, honest and always open to all questions.

Tickets are £20 and include a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival.

Places are limited to just 20 - so we’d recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

No gym kit required. Come with an open mind. Leave with a plan.
